#16 Treacle Spice Traybake {Baking Bible Challenge}

I'm going to let you into a secret about this week's bake... I was actually intending to make the gingerbread traybake (starting to feel festive), but Rosalie distracted me and I started weighing out the ingredients on the opposite side of the page! So instead, this week I have made Treacle Spice Traybake.

Not surprisingly you can really taste the treacle in this one! It's another recipe I previously might have skipped over, but in fact was both straightforward and delicious, as well as being perfect for lunch boxes (or just scoffing at home with a cup of tea!).

If you'd like to try the recipe for yourself, it can be found on page 184 of Mary Berry's Baking Bible.

I am challenging myself to cook all 219 recipes in Mary's Baking Bible - you can follow my challenge using the hashtag #BakingBibleChallenge on Twitter and Instagram and right here on my blog.

  1. Oh dear, I know it's rotten of me but this has made me giggle! I've made similar mistakes too but mine never turn out as well as yours has! Mostly I end up with cakes you could build a house out of because I've forgotten baking powder or some other vital ingredient.

    1. Lol! It put me in mind of the Friends episode where Rachel makes a Trifle come Shepherd's Pie...what's not to like, Beef? Good! Jam? Good!
