Ok, so 'reading' is a loose term to describe the books Rosalie enjoys at the moment - the word:picture ratio is heavily skewed towards pictures; but that's ok because just looking at books is great fun when they're this age (R is 10 months old).
This week we have been enjoying reading
Baby's Day, a book suitable for 0+.
This book follows baby's day from waking up to going to sleep, via playing, going out, story time and bathtime.
Rosalie's favourite page is 'bathtime baby' as she loves her bath and she recognises the ducks on the page!
We enjoy this book because of the wonderful rhymes and the lovely big images of real babies - these provide lots of opportunities for pointing out eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
What a lovely book! Nice and bright and with enough of a story to keep little ones interested.
ReplyDeleteLooking at picture books seems to be something that sticks around for a while. My daughter has a similar book about a baby's day that she's had since she was a baby herself and it's still a firm favourite two years on.

DeleteOh that's a gorgeous book - I think Elma had it out of the library at one point and loved it. We've got a good few black and white board books on our shelves and they're still really popular with the girls; Kitty always used to find they picture of a baby crying in one book absolutely hilarious!
