The first Eliot family vacation: North Devon

At the beginning of September we took our first proper family vacation. We had a week in north Devon, staying in a beautiful, secluded cottage. For anyone looking for a self catering holiday in the Torrington area I would highly recommend Crooked Lake Cottage.

Rosalie had no problems adjusting to strange surroundings and slept soundly in the cottage provided cot. At almost 9 months it was wonderful seeing the difference in her from the last time we took her to the beach. She even joined in with fish and chips, a cream tea and had her very own encounter with the Exmoor Beast!

I'll let the pictures tell the story, here's what we got up to:

Fun on the beach at Bude

 Cycling the Tarka Trail

Playing in the park at Bideford

Digging in the sand at Saunton / Braunton Burrows

Meeting the animals at Exmoor Zoo

Enjoying the best cream tea you will ever eat - you have to visit the Rectory Tearooms at Morwenstow, you won't regret it!
