Hide-and-Seek Pig {What We're Reading}

It's no secret that we're big Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler fans in this house; we own quite a few of their books, but none of the Tales from Acorn Wood. So we were very excited to find Hide-and-Seek Pig in the library.

Hide and seek is such a fun game to play, I just love hiding around corners or behind the furniture, then peeking out to see Rosalie pounding across the floor on hands and knees. I flash her a grin before quickly tucking my head back in and listening to her giggle as she discovers me and breaks into that deep full laughter that only babies can pull off.

Rosalie just loves lifting the flaps in this book, helping Pig find Hen, and she thinks it is so funny that there are little characters hiding in the pages. 

The illustrations, of course, are bright and bold and seem to convey so much emotion. Just look at their little faces!

We love the classic Donaldson repetition and rhyme.

But best of all we love the fact that they get to have a picnic tea at the end (if Hen hasn't eaten it all!).
