Happy Days #25

We seem to have fitted quite a lot into this week, despite many little tantrums and teething related tears!

Out and about

We've visited the library where Rosalie charmed the ladies behind the desk; we had a play-date with Little P and Mummy A where Rosalie enjoyed playing with some different toys; we had a brilliant last session of the term at Jolly Babies; a trip to the swings and we drove into Newbury to meet a friend for coffee. Unfortunately it looks like we were so busy having fun that I didn't take any photos!

Fun at home

We haven't been at home a whole lot this week but when we have Rosalie has been enjoying playing peekaboo using her hats - she says the cutest little 'boo' when she lifts it off!

We've done lots of reading as always, and found a lovely spring themed book at the library on Monday. Rosalie has also been really enjoying spotting birds from the window - she loves to wave at our friendly resident blackbirds and the pigeons that perch on the neighbour's roof.

I baked some unexpectedly successful hot cross buns! And having discovered a different lens for my camera in the cupboard, and re-acquainting myself with manual mode, I've been working on my photography some too.

Good Friday was a little bit of a washout, but it was lovely to have Jim at home, and we had lots of fun making Easter nests together. Rosalie mostly enjoyed stealing the chocolate eggs from the nests and eating them!

Time for me

Not a lot of time for me this week, but now Rosalie doesn't have a bedtime breastfeed, it does give me a little bit of extra time to blog, edit photos and videos or whatever I want really!

It was lovely to have a good old chin wag over coffee on Thursday - although Rosalie was there so I was still in mummy-mode, she was good as gold sitting in the highchair, thanks mainly to the wonders that are breadsticks and raisins!

My happiest moment

Probably a first for me that my happiest moment doesn't involve Rosalie! I really wasn't expecting my hot cross buns to turn out well due to past experiences with yeast-based baking, but they did! They were (still are, we haven't eaten them all yet) light and soft and delicious, yay!

Check out my other Happy Days posts so far and join in too. #HappyDays is hosted by Katy from What Katy Said and Jenna from Tinyfootsteps.

  1. Those hot cross buns look delicious! (I much prefer them over chocolate eggs at easter). Love the photo of Rosalie 'helping' with the chocolate nests - and her peekaboo is adorable. Have a great week!

    1. Yeah it was thanks Becky :) Re the feed, it was R's choice really, for a few weeks it had seemed like she wasn't too bothered so one day I just said tonight she just gets a cuddle, and she didn't hunt for milk so I put her to bed and that was that. The first two nights that Jim did bedtime she was a bit tearful but now it's great as either one of us can put her to bed. Good luck with O xxx
