My favourite room in the house is our kitchen-diner. The kitchen is spacious and having the dining room area means there is plenty of space for Rosalie to play at the same time; it's a real family room.
Shortly after we moved in I got a secondhand dresser which I transformed into a beautiful piece of furniture. Ever since I have been looking for a suitable corner cabinet that I can up-cycle to match; a few weeks ago I managed to nab one (fairly) locally on eBay.
So over the last week or so I've been utilising Rosalie's nap times to sand, prime and paint my secondhand cabinet.
It took two coats of primer/undercoat and two top coats to get the finish I was after. I used the same paint that I bought for the dresser (and also my bargainous basket chair) - the Craig & Rose Acrylic Eggshell in Regency White. This paint is amazing - it is so easy to apply and leaves such a great finish, as well as being water-based so you can clean up your brushes in soapy water. (Craig & Rose haven't asked me to write that, I genuinely love their paint!)
You can see in the final photo how well the new cabinet matches the dresser - I am so pleased with the result, and I feel rather satisfied having done it all myself. The only slight issue I had was with the door - why do doors never fit the same once you take them off? Needless to say, after much sanding and an aching arm the door does now fit and closes neatly.
Now I'm off to rearrange my china...

Wow it looks fab! Thanks for the paint recommendation, I have a little side table I want to paint when me move! xx
