Out and About {What We're Reading}

It is wonderful now that Rosalie gets excited about going out - she points at her coat and when we're out and about she shows much more interest in things, such as other children, dogs and whether mummy is hurriedly pushing past the park because swings weren't scheduled into this mornings chores!

Which is why this week we are reading Out and About. Rosalie was given this book for her birthday by her good friend baby G.

I think this picture may be slightly deceiving; although the book is big, this photo makes it look huge! Out and About is from the Ladybird Toddler Touch range, so it has bits to prod and poke, and little flaps to lift.

The book takes the reader on a journey, doing all the sorts of things toddlers like to do in a day...

Such as travel on the bus, or ride in the car, with lots of things to see along the way...

We visit the library and the supermarket...

Then we go to the park, play on the swings and visit the ducks...

And finally we meet up with friends to play in the sandpit, at the water table and in the wendy house.

The great thing about this book is that there are so many things to spot and talk about on each page, and they are all things that toddlers probably see fairly often. The pages are tabbed making them really easy for little hands to turn, and the illustrations are so vibrant.
