Happy Days #23

I'm not quite sure where this week has gone! It has whizzed by in a flash and now it's the weekend again, yippee! We like it when Daddy is around.

Out and about

Last Sunday was Mother's Day and we had a lovely day out at Studley Grange Butterfly World. I'll write a post about it when I have time, but basically it's an indoor butterfly farm and an outdoor children's farm. Rosalie seemed quite intrigued by the butterflies, but she also really liked the colourful birds, and of course the goats and pigs! There were some exceptionally cute piglets. We took a picnic but it was too chilly to eat it outside so we had a car picnic instead!

We've had quite a few park sessions this week, including a very chilly morning when the park was deserted and Rosalie had great fun trying out some of the bigger kids' equipment, and we practiced walking between each thing.

Fun at home

We made Easter biscuits together this week - I made the dough and rolled it out, but Rosalie enjoyed stamping out bunnies and butterflies, and sampling the dough!

We've been doing lots of reading, as Rosalie's interest in lengthier books increases. We also got the wax crayons out again but she scribbles for only about 30 seconds before getting bored; she much prefers tipping the crayons out and rearranging them in the pot. We have had some success with MegaBloks this week though.

Time for me

Mother's Day was wonderful, Jim did croissants for breakfast and organised a lovely picnic. He also cooked dinner so that I didn't have a thing to worry about. Rosalie gave me some beautiful daffodils which are still looking bright and cheery.

My happiest moment

Seeing Rosalie pointing at the animals at Studley Grange was wonderful; she gets so animated when she sees things she likes, and does the best goat impression!

Doing some walking practice outside also made me really happy and excited for the coming months when I will surely have a toddler!

Check out my other Happy Days posts so far and join in too. #HappyDays is hosted by Katy from What Katy Said and Jenna from Tinyfootsteps.

    1. Studley Grange is definitely somewhere we'll go back to in the summer when hopefully the butterflies will be more active. I'm hoping eventually she'll figure out that colouring in is fun! Thank you for your lovely comment x
