Happy Birthday to Mummy

Sunday was my birthday. It's nice when your birthday falls on a weekend isn't it? It means you get extra spoilt! I got tea and family cuddles in bed whilst I opened my cards and presents (with a lot of help from Rosalie). We had croissant for breakfast before heading out to The Vyne for some fresh air, exercise and of course a picnic.

I remembered to take my GorillaPod and I managed to get a pretty good family portrait thanks to a convenient fallen tree.

Rosalie had fun balancing on the fallen tree too - she was walking along holding Daddy's hand, but she stopped and stood still so that I could take this photo.

I'm normally the one clinging to the camera, but as it was my birthday I gave it to Jim and he took a series of lovely photos of me and Rosalie, but this is my favourite because it's so natural and we both look really happy.

I even got a break from the baking as Jim made me a red velvet birthday cake!

But here's the reason my birthday this year was so extra special. If you had said to me last year that my baby girl would be singing happy birthday to me this year, I would have laughed in disbelief. I'm not delusional, I know this isn't really singing, and I don't expect any non-parents to understand. But to me, hearing those words 'happy birthday to mummy' squeak out of my little girl's mouth was truly magical.
