I had a little 'helper' whilst making this, but she mostly enjoyed eating the strawberries before they made it into the cake! I must admit I may have sneaked one too (shush!). Chef's perks though right? Like scraping the bowl.
You cook this one cool and slow, and once it's done the cake is moist and springy and the strawberries are mushy and jam-like.
As recommended by Mary Berry, we had ours warm with cream and it was delicious, but I'll have to report back on how it fares once it's cold. I might give this one a go again using different fruit, I think it could work well with apples.
